The club is run by two members of Rye Badminton Club who have both been playing match Badminton for 20+ years and have a great deal of experience.
We feel that sport is a vital part of life and a wonderful means of relaxation from all the stresses of life. When the sports hall was opened in Northiam we thought it would be great to make use of this great resource to introduce young people to Badminton which we are passionate about. There is also an adult Badminton club which some of the older members have graduated to. Some of the older ones are also starting to play in the senior club at Rye which does not have a junior club. We are hoping that some of them will start to play senior matches in due course. But the most important thing is to have fun.
When:
Every Friday during term time from 5.30 to 6.30pm then from 6.30 to 7.30pm
Who:
The groups are based on age and ability. The first group is for absolute beginners from the age of 7. The second group is for those with a fair bit of skill from the age of 12 to 17.
Other information:
Dress code standard sports wear, but most especially good non marking footwear is essential, not crocks, slippers, walking boots, bare feet or just socks.
There is no need to bring a racket as the club have plenty available to use which are of good quality. We also have small rackets for small people.
Cost:
The cost of each session is £2.50.
